Rajasthan police on Wednesday found four burnt bodies in a hut in Ramnagar village of the Jodhpur district of the state. Jodhpur Rural SP Dharmendra Yadav said that prima facie it looks like these people were murdered and then their bodies were burnt. However, he said that a team from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is present at the spot and further investigation is underway. Reacting to the incident, Rajasthan BJP President Chandra Prakash Joshi sought the resignation of CM Ashok Gehlot and said no one is safe in the state.

"These incidents are taking place in the region of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. It clearly shows that the situation of law and order is weak in the state.  No one is safe in the city. Be it children or be it, women. All this is very unfortunate. The Chief Minister should resign," Joshi told ANI.

Reacting to the incident, Congress leader Divya Madrena said, "The law and order situation is deeply concerning in Rajasthan. The police are inefficient. If something so gruesome can happen to the people in a village then the IG should be sacked and held responsible."

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat called the incident 'deeply saddening' and added that criminals have become fearless in the last four and half years.

"This incident is deeply saddening. In the last four and a half years, the criminals have become fearless in the state, the government is only busy saving the chair and bringing back the chair. There should be a thorough investigation and the accused should be given harsh punishment," the minister added.
