New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on August 12 to lay the foundation stones for Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas ji Memorial and two other road projects, an official statement said on Thursday.


According to the government release, the Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas ji Memorial in Sagar district will be built at a cost of Rs 100 crore over a sprawling area of 11.25 acres.


The memorial will have a museum and an art gallery that will showcase the life, philosophy and teachings of Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas. The memorial will also have facilities for visiting devotees like Bhakt Niwas, Bhojanalay, among others.


During his visit to the poll-bound state, PM Modi will perform the Bhoomi Poojan at the site of the construction and also take part in a public event at Dhana where he will lay the foundation stone for Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas ji Memorial, the statement said.


During the programme, he will also dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of rail and road sector projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore.


The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the project marking the completion of the expansion of the Kota-Bina rail route. The project, which has been built at an estimated cost of over Rs 2,475 crore, passes through Kota and Baran districts in Rajasthan, and Guna, Ashoknagar and Sagar districts, in Madhya Pradesh.


The additional rail route will also help boost mobility and improve the train speed.


During his visit, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of two road projects at a cost of over Rs 1,580 crore. These include a four-laning road project connecting Morikori-Vidisha-Hinotiya and another connecting Hinotiya to Mehluwa, according to the statement.


It is to be noted that the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections are likely to be held later this year.
