Kolkata, Jun 6 (PTI) All passengers had to be offloaded from a plane at the Kolkata international Airport after a man started shouting before take-off that there was a bomb in the aircraft. The Qatar Airways flight to London from here via Doha with 541 passengers on board was getting ready for take-off at 3.29 am on Tuesday when one passenger started shouting that there was a bomb in the plane, sources told PTI. The father of the detained man was called to the Airport police station. The father showed some medical documents to police which stated that his son was undergoing treatment for mental illness.


The airline crew immediately informed the CISF. All the passengers were brought down from the plane and the aircraft was thoroughly searched by police with sniffer dogs but nothing was found, the sources said. The CISF detained the passenger who shouted bomb in the aircraft and questioned him. During interrogation, the man said that another passenger on the plane told him that there was a bomb in the plane.


Chaos At Mumbai Airport After Woman Makes False Claim Of Carrying Bomb In Luggage, Arrested


Last week, chaos hit Mumbai airport after a woman falsely claimed that she was carrying an explosive in her luggage when she was asked to pay up for extra luggage by the staff. The police have filed a case and the women has been arrested. As per rules, every passenger is allowed to carry a lugguage weighing up to 15 kg but when the woman was asked to pay extra for another bag she was carrying, she refused and claimed that she was carrying a bomb. However, no explosives were found in the bad upon being searched.


DCP Zone 8 Dixit Gedam told ABP News that the Mumbai Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and arrested her. She would be presented before the court in 24 hours. She was travelling from Mumbai to Kolkata.
