New Delhi: Massive fire broke out in a furniture godown in Mumbai's Jogeshwari West area on Monday. Sources told ABP Live that the fire was presently under control and it took around 15 fire tenders to douse the blaze.
More than 20 shops were gutted in the massive fire even as the cooling operations are currently underway, according to sources.
Mumbai's civic body BMC categorised the fire to be of level 3.
"The fire started at 11 am on Monday near Ram Mandir in the Jogeshwari area of Mumbai," officials said.
"As soon as the information about the fire was received, 8 fire tenders reached the spot and went about controlling the fire," the official further stated.
News agency ANI has shared the video of the incident.
As per initial reports, the fire was reported at 11 am at a furniture godown at Ghas Compound, Relief Road.
Several social media users have shared multiple videos of the fire incident on Twitter.
A social media user named Alakh Niranjan tweeted, "massive fire in oshiwara in furniture factory. happening in front of my company. Praying for everyone safety."
Responding to another user's alert, Mumbai Police from their official Twitter handle tweeted that they have informed the main control room.
According to the officials, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. No casualties have been reported.
