New Delhi: A government employee was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Monday night, officials said.
The victim was identified as Abdula Razaq, who was gunned down outside a mosque in his village of Kunda Top, located under the Thanamandi police station area. The deceased's brother reportedly served in the Indian Army.
40-year-old Abdula Razaq was an employee in the social welfare department, according to a report in NDTV.
The assailants, launched a fatal attack on Razaq from close range before fleeing the scene. Security personnel rushed to the spot and launched a massive cordon and search operation to track down the terrorists, they said, reported news agency PTI.
Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area, and an investigation has been launched to apprehend the attackers, as confirmed by Rajouri Police, as per ANI.
