The police examined the CCTV footage and then arrested the man who has been identified as Firoz Khan (20). Khan has been booked under provisions of the Railways Act, the official said, as quoted by PTI.

On August 10, an unauthorised passenger on Tirupati–Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express was seen smoking inside a toilet which triggered a false fire alarm. The incident happened in coach C – 13 on Train No. 20702 after passing Gudur, said a railway official, as per news agency PTI. Videos that surfaced on social media showed the C – 13 coach engulfed with a smoke-like extinguisher while the train halted for some time after the alarm went off.

"An unauthorised passenger boarded the train from Tirupati and locked himself in the toilet of C-13 coach... The passenger smoked inside the toilet which resulted in automatic activation of aerosol fire extinguisher present inside the toilet," an official from South Central Railway (SCR) Zone's Vijayawada Division informed in a press release, as per PTI.

After this, the passenger relayed the information to the train's guard through an emergency phone connection inside the coach, leading to the train being stopped at Manubolu around 5 pm.

The Railway police mistook the false alarm to be a fire accident and rushed to the coach with a fire extinguisher. The toilet's window was broken to save the passenger who was found smoking inside it.
