At least one worker died while six were hospitalised after an under-construction flyover collapsed in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur near Shivaji Showk on Saturday. Jabalpur City Superintendent of Police Ritesh Kumar said that six to seven labourers were buried in the debris of the under-construction flyover.






Jabalpur SP Ritesh Kumar told news agency ANI, "A flyover was being constructed near Shivaji Showk and during this, six to seven labourers were buried in the debris. Six labourers have been shifted to the hospital. We have received information about one death. Prima facie it appears to be a matter of negligence. Further investigation is underway and required action will be taken."






A substantial mound of rubble, generated during the construction activities, suddenly gave way, and the unsuspecting victims found themselves buried beneath it, he said, as per news agency PTI.


Immediate rescue efforts were launched to extricate them from the debris. The injured individuals were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.


4 Dead, 2 Injured in Collision on KMP Expressway


In another accident, a collision on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway claimed the lives of four individuals and left two others injured, PTI reported. The incident occurred when a truck collided with two canter trucks, triggering a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles.


As per the police, following the initial collision with the canters, the truck overturned and tragically plummeted from a flyover. Subsequently, two other vehicles also became entangled in the mishap.


The drivers of the canter trucks, as well as the truck driver, lost their lives in the incident. Meanwhile, the drivers of the two other vehicles sustained critical injuries, PTI reported.


Authorities have registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the Rojka Meo police station, initiating further investigations into the accident.


The victims have been identified as Uday Chad (42) from Narhera village, Prem Chand (34), Mahender (28) from Alwar, and Sunil (31) from Aligharh. According to the police, the incident occurred near Jhirna Ghati on the KMP expressway, as per PTI.
