A leopard entered a house in Gurugram's Narsinghpur village in Haryana. The Forest Department team has arrived to catch the leopard. The Gurugram police team also reached the spot. In the visuals shared by news agency ANI on Wednesday, a leopard can be seen entering the house through the stairs.
The leopard was later tranquilized by the forest officials in the afternoon and taken away. "The leopard was given two doses of tranquilizer at 11:30 am and 11.45 am. and brought under control," forest officials said, as quoted by ANI. A village youth was injured by the leopard. The leopard hid in the hall of a house in the village. The ongoing conflict between humans and wildlife animals in urban areas has become a matter of real concern.
In December last year, in Pune, a young male leopard that strayed into Chikali, PCMC (Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation), was successfully rescued in a joint operation by the Pune Forest Department, RESQ CT Wildlife Rescue Unit, PCMC Fire Department, and PCMC Police Department.
In the same month, a leopard trapped in a wire fence in a private garden in the Thitukkal area near Nilgiri Uthai was rescued after a 6-hour struggle. A leopard that was roaming in search of food in the Thitukkal area near Nilgiri Uthai in Tamil Nadu was stuck in a wire fence in a private garden there. According to ANI, the people of the area informed the Nilgiri Forest Division Forest Department after hearing the sound of the leopard, which was struggling to free its hind leg from getting stuck in the wire fence.
After receiving the information, the forest department reached the spot where the leopard was trapped and decided to rescue it by injecting anesthesia. After that, they called Rajesh, the forest veterinarian at Mudumalai Elephant Camp. The veterinarian who arrived at the scene administered anaesthetics to the leopard. The forest department safely rescued the unconscious leopard and took it to the nearby Parsons Valley Forest, ANI reported.
