New Delhi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced a concession of Rs 25 per litre petrol for motorcycle and scooter riders on Wednesday. The changes will come into effect from January 26.


"To provide relief to the poor, labourers and middle-class families of the state, the government has decided to a give a subsidy of Rs 25 per liter petrol to two-wheeler owners from January 26," Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren said.


The announcement was made as the government completed two years in office. Soren's Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) formed the government in 2019 after winning 47 of the 81seats in the assembly election.


Students To Get Credit Cards


CM Hemant Soren also said that the government woukd provide student credit cards so that promising students do not face difficulty in studying. "The government is serious about the bank management not giving loans to the children of the tribal community. The government will solve this problem in the coming days," CM Soren said.
