Just two days after a vehicle pile-up in Himachal Pradesh, another road accident claimed four more lives in the state on Friday. At least four people were killed in the Chori Kenchi area of Jubbal in Shimla on Friday, June 21, when a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus.


"The accident took place at 6:45 am after the bus overturned on the road. In total there were 5 passengers plus the driver and conductor. Three injured have been admitted to a local hospital in Rohru," Rohan Chand Thakur, Managing Director, HRTC said.






According to the Navbharat Times, there were seven people on the bus at the time of the accident. The three injured persons are in a critical state.


According to ANI, the incident occurred in the Kenchi area of Jubbal when the bus, which was en route Kuddu-Diltari in the Rohru area of Shimla, suffered a loss of control and veered off the mountain road into another stretch below.


The bus reportedly started on Route 6 and met with the accident barely 4 km later. The bus driver, a woman, and a Nepali national were among the dead, reported India Today. Two of them died on the spot while the others died on the way to the hospital. Jubbal Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rajiv Sankhayan rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.


Jawan Dies In Multi-Vehicle Accident


The incident occurred just days after a multi-vehicle accident in which a police jawan died and four other people were injured. This incident occurred on a highway in Bilaspur near the Garamoda Toll Plaza on the Kiratpur-Manali National Highway late Monday night, as per a PTI report.


A truck coming from Himachal side hit five vehicles lined up at the toll plaza. A police jawan, posted at Bassi Battalion of Bilaspur, died on the spot, police told PTI. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered in the matter. The injured were taken for treatment in AIIMS Bilaspur.
