New Delhi: Over 40 people were injured after a boiler exploded in a spare parts manufacturing factory in Haryana’s Rewari on Saturday, news agency ANI reported.


According to a senior doctor, ambulances have been rushed to the site of the accident and the hospitals in the vicinity have been alerted. One of the injured people is in a serious condition and has been referred to Rohtak. He further said that several people have sustained burn injuries due to the explosion.


Of those injured, 23 are undergoing treatment at the local hospital and their condition is currently stable, the senior doctor added.  


The incident took place around 5.50 pm when the boiler exploded in the dust collector of the Rewari facility. 


Speaking to news agency ANI, Civil Surgeon Surender Yadav said, “A boiler has exploded in a factory in Dharuhera, Rewari. We have alerted the hospitals. We have sent the ambulance to the factory. Several people have burn injuries. Around 40 people are injured and there is one serious patient who has been referred to Rohtak.”






“We received info that a boiler exploded at a factory in Dharuhera. The injured have been admitted to the trauma centre in Rewari. Those who are in serious condition are being referred to Rohtak. No casualty has been reported,” Vijendra, SHO Dharuhera, Rewari told the news agency.


According to reports, fire engines and ambulances were rushed to the factory immediately after the incident took place and police and administrative officials also arrived at the accident spot to take stock of the situation.
