Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday announced that families with income up to Rs 1.8 lakh will get gas cylinders for Rs 500.


"Until the BJP government is in power, until then I assure you that like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and honourable Manohar Lal (Khattar) arranged for gas cylinders to each and every household. I declare this today that there are 46 lakh families in Haryana whose family income is less that Rs 1.80 lakh and there are 11 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna, all those sisters will get gas cylinders for Rs 500 from now," Saini said during his address at a state-level event organised in Jind on the occasion of Hariyali Teej.






The Chief Minister also announced that as part of the Mukhyamantri Dugdh Uphaar Yojana, fortified milk will be provided to schoolgirls aged 14 to 18 for 150 days to combat malnutrition.


Saini said that the programme is expected to support around 2.65 lakh adolescent girls, according to an official release. He also announced an increase in the loan amount for self-employment under the Haryana Matrishakti Udyamita Yojana from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.


Moreover, the revolving fund provided to self-help groups (SHGs) for daily needs will be raised from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, Saini said, adding that the monthly honorarium for Group Sakhi will be increased from Rs 150 to Rs 500.


Earlier on Monday, the Haryana chief minister waived off stamp duty on the purchase of land for setting up gaushalas in the state. Saini also announced that farmers who keep indigenous cows will be given an annual grant of Rs 30,000 per cow.


On Sunday, Saini announced the procurement of all crops in the state at the minimum support price (MSP) and the waiver of Rs 133 crores in outstanding canal water irrigation charges.
