An under-construction building collapsed in Kheda in Gujarat on Monday.
According to a report in ANI, a rescue operation is underway. Police and administration are present at the spot.
There were no immediate casualties, as per initial reports. Local authorities, including the police and administration, swiftly responded to the accident, mobilizing resources to assist in the rescue operations.
Rudresh Hudad, chief officer of Nadiad Municipality said, told ANI, “An under-construction house collapsed. Two people suffered minor injuries and have been taken to hospital. Search operation is underway."
This is the second such incident reported in Gujarat in a span of two days. On Friday, an under-construction medical college building collapsed in Gujarat's Morbi leading to at least 4 workers getting injured.
As per officials, four of the workers engaged in filling the roof were injured in the collapse incident that took place at around 8 pm.
Gujarat Police said that the incident, which took place during the filling work on the first floor of the new building, resulted in a slab collapse, leaving at least four workers injured.
Fire In Kolkata Building
A fire broke out at a three-storey house next to a slum in Beleghata area of the Kolkata on Sunday evening, an official said. There was no report of any injury due to the blaze and residents were safely evacuated. Six families reside in the building, he added.
Ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot in the north-east part of Kolkata, when the flames were spotted around 7:30 pm, the official said. There were a lot of combustible items in the adjacent shacks, but the fire was contained before it could spread to nearby areas, the official added.
