At least one person died and eight others sustained injuries after a bus hit several vehicles in Gujarat's Surat on Saturday night, as reported by news agency ANI. The injured people are being treated at a hospital.






On Surat accident, Commissioner, of Surat Municipal Corporation, Shalini Agarwal said, "Around nine people were injured (after a bus hit several vehicles) but one of them died. The treatment of the eight injured is underway...A police investigation is underway. Surat Municipal Corporation will take all necessary action once the investigation reveals everything."






State Education Minister Praful Pansheriya visited the injured, who are currently under treatment at the hospital. The municipal commissioner said the police are carrying out a probe into the incident, as reported by ANI. "Based on the investigation report, we will take necessary action," she added, as quoted by ANI.


In another incident, a couple hailing from the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh died in a road accident in Bulandshahr on Friday, news agency PTI reported, citing police. The accident took place in the Sikandrabad police station area in the evening, they added.


Vikas (25) was going to his in-laws' house located within the Chola police station limits here, along with his wife Savita (22) and eight-month-old child.


An unidentified vehicle hit Vikas's two-wheeler in the Sikandrabad industrial area, killing him and Savita on the spot, police said. However, the child fell at a distance from Savita's lap and was saved, they added.
