New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's son was airlifted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Monday, a day after he suffered a brain stroke. The Gujarat CM's son, Anuj Patel, had undergone brain surgery in Ahmedabad's KD Hospital on Sunday following which his health was stable.


"Anuj B. Patel, son of Shri Bhupendra Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat has had a Brain Stroke yesterday and was admitted in KD Hospital, Ahmedabad. The local neurosurgeons had done an appropriate emergency procedure which stabilized him. He is now shifted by air ambulance to P D Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai, for an operative procedure. He will continue to remain in ICU of P D Hinduja Hospital, after the surgery, till further recovery," Hinduja Hospital said in its health bulletin.


On Sunday, Anuj was rushed to a hospital in Ahmedabad where he was kept under observation for 24 hours before being referred to the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. 













Earlier, the Ahmedabad hospital in its statement said, "Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's son Anuj Patel was admitted to KD Hospital at 2:45 pm and operated upon after suffering from a brain stroke. Currently, his health is stable and is under the supervision of a team of expert doctors."


CM Bhupendra Patel today cancelled his visit to Jamnagar where a state-level event is being organised to celebrate Gujarat’s Foundation Day and instead travelled to Mumbai to be with his ailing son.


“Due to the ill health of his son, CM Bhupendra Patel will not be travelling to Jamnagar to participate in Gujarat Gaurav Day celebrations. Governor Acharya Devvrat and Health Minister Rushikesh Patel will be participating in the event (at Jamnagar),” said an official statement from the government.
