Congress leader Vikram Bais tragically lost his life after being shot while taking an evening stroll in a residential area of Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district. In a shocking act of violence, unidentified attackers opened fire on Bais near his residence in Bakharupara. Riding a motorcycle, the assailants quickly fled the scene after firing three bullets at Bais, resulting in his untimely death.
Speaking about the murder of Congress leader Vikram Bais in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Arun Sao said: "There will be a thorough investigation into the incident. Action as per the law will be taken against those found guilty."
The incident occurred late on Monday night, around 10 pm, when a group of assailants on motorcycles ambushed Bais, causing severe injuries. Despite immediate medical attention at the district hospital, Bais succumbed to his wounds. The attack occurred within the jurisdiction of Narayanpur City Kotwali.
According to sources, Vikram Bais was outside his home on Monday night when he was suddenly confronted by assailants on a motorcycle. They unleashed a barrage of gunfire, tragically ending Bais's life in a matter of moments, The Statesman reported.
Narayanpur Additional SP Robin, speaking with The Statesman, disclosed that the assailants fatally shot Vikram Bais in the Bakharupara area of Narayanpur. Confirming the incident, he stated that approximately 3 to 4 assailants targeted the Congress leader with pistols. Based on preliminary investigations, it is suggested that the motive behind the attack may stem from personal enmity or a longstanding feud, he added.
