New Delhi: Punjab's Leader of Opposition (LoP) and Congress leader, Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday responded to speculations surrounding the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)'s return to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fold. He condemned such an alliance as "opportunist," questioning its motives and implications for Punjab's interests. He called upon SAD leader Sukhbir Singh Badal to clarify whether the alliance serves the state's welfare, the Akali Dal's agenda, or merely the interests of the Badal family.
AAP's decision to contest alone in Punjab Lok Sabha Polls elicited a sharp reaction from Bajwa who remarked, "Kejriwal will fight alone and will remain alone". Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while addressing a programme in Punjab on Saturday, announced that his party will declare its candidates for all 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
