New Delhi: A cab driver was thrashed by private security personnel over a parking issue at Mumbai airport, the video of which went viral on the social media on Saturday.


According to Mumbai Police, six people have been arrested on the basis of the driver’s statement.


A video from the incident has surfaced online that shows the driver engaged in an argument with the security personnel and a man trying to mediate in the beginning. But soon the argument escalates in a scuffle and the security personnel start thrashing the driver.






Mumbai Police has booked and arrested six people identified as Ganesh Mohite, Mohan Dhotre, Kishore, Anil Thakur, Sagar, and Fatima Tule, based on the statement of the driver.


“The driver of the car, Devan Devere, was standing in the parking lot waiting for the passenger when a private female security personnel came and an argument broke out between the two regarding the parking of the car, the dispute turned into a scuffle," News18 quoted an official as saying.


Police have registered a case under Sections 142,143,146,147,323, and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and further investigation on the matter is underway, officials said.


Earlier on Friday, an Ola cab driver was beaten up and his wallet snatched by four people in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior.


According to reports, a group of four people booked an Ola cab and stopped it near Sarla farmhouse that lies in an isolated place. They then beat up the driver, Pawan Kumar Gaud, resident of Bhitarwar, and fled with his wallet.


One of the wallet snatchers have been arrested and police are looking for the three others.
