New Delhi: Launching a blistering attack on Bihar government over the murder of a man reported missing in Gopalganj, BJP said “jungle raj” instead of “Nitish raj” prevailed in the state. Describing the killing “ISIS-style”, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said no one is safe as criminals go scot-free under Nitish Kumar-led government.
Taking to X, Poonawalla said, “Today, Bihar is ruled by jungle raj and there is no Nitish raj. The manner in which ISIS-style execution took place in Gopalganj, shows the uncivil and unsafe environment in Bihar. A 32-year-old pujari (priest) was shot dead, then subjected to brutal torture, his eyes gouged out.”
“Police personnel are not safe in a state where criminals and mafia run scot-free. Seers and priests are not safe. Women and children are not safe. Common man is not safe. Such is the condition of law and order in Bihar. Nitish Kumar must answer as to what is the pressure on him that he is allowing this to happen,” he further said.
Accusing the government of indulging in appeasement politics, the BJP leader said Hindu seers or priests are not safe in Congress-ruled states or states where their allies are in power.
“Similar pattern of law and order situation we witnessed in Congress-ruled Rajasthan and MVA-ruled Maharashtra earlier. Now we see this is Bihar. This is vote-bank politics,” Poonawalla added.
Meanwhile, Bihar BJP chief Samrat Choudhary said the government is dominated by sand, liquor and land mafia and that stringent action needs to be taken in this regard.
Notably, the body of 32-year-old Manoj Kumar, who had gone missing a few days back, was recovered in a mutilated condition on Sunday. The deceased used to work as caretaker at Shiva temple at Danapur under the Maja Police Station limits, according to ANI.
