New Delhi: A fire incident was reported at a shop in Bihar's Aurangabad after a cylinder exploded there in the early hours of Saturday.

According to news agency PTI, at least 25 people were injured in the massive blaze. The incident happened when the family of Anil Goswami, who owns the place, was cooking for Chhath Puja around 2.30 am, PTI reported officials as saying.

Fire engines were immediately rushed to the spot but exploding cooking gas cylinders further fuelled the blaze, they informed.

Those injured were undergoing treatment at a hospital, officials said, adding that an investigation is underway to identify the cause of the fire.

"We were preparing for Chhath puja, my wife was making meals. A sudden fire broke out at my shop after a cylinder there exploded. My family members were injured," Shopkeeper Anil told news agency ANI.

More details about the incident are awaited.
