A day after West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose said that corruption and violence are two issues affecting West Bengal and it must be eradicated, Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh hit back saying that the governor is trying to create his image as a BJP leader. Speaking to news agency PTI, Ghosh said, "The governor is lying and acting as an agent of BJP. He must not do this, he is trying to create his image as a BJP leader."
Bose, while speaking at a session on ‘Ethos of Indian Constitution: Unity in Diversity’, organised by Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the capital Kolkata on Monday had said that "corruption and violence" are affecting West Bengal and it must quit the state.
During his address, the West Bengal governor also quoted Canadian statesman Lester B Pearson and said that it is easy to frame a constitution but difficult to make it work. Bose said India has framed a constitution and made it work.
"India is secular not because the Constitution says we are secular; India is secular because our cultural heritage is secular," Bose was quoted as saying by PTI.
While speaking at the event, the Bengal governor also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to the country during the foundation stone laying of the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country on Sunday. Bose said that PM Modi has also called for corruption and appeasement to quit India.
