New Delhi: A harrowing road accident occurred near Nadiad on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway, claiming the lives of 10 individuals with the possibility of the death toll rising further. The collision took place when a car traveling from Vadodara to Ahmedabad collided with the rear of a trailer.


Soon after the accident, two ambulances as well as the patrolling team of Express Highway also reached the spot. Following the accident, traffic congestion ensued on the Vadodara-Ahmedabad Express Highway. The severity of the collision necessitated the extraction of bodies from the Ertiga car by cutting it open.






Of the 10 fatalities, eight individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while two others passed away during medical treatment. The Ertiga car, traveling from Vadodara to Ahmedabad, collided with the rear of the tanker, resulting in the accident.

Kheda SP Rajesh Gadhvi released a statement revealing that a technical fault led to a tanker being parked on the Vadodara-Ahmedabad Expressway. He said,  "A car carrying 10 passengers collided with the stationary tanker, resulting in the death of eight individuals at the scene. Two others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital but, also succumbed to their injuries".


He further added, "The administration immediately reached the spot and took out the dead bodies from the car and efforts are being made to contact the family. Teams have been formed to ensure smooth completion of further legal process."


A car bearing registration number GJ27 EC 2578 was involved in the crash near Ahmedabad, where the identities of the deceased remain unknown. To ascertain their identities, the police have initiated an investigation utilizing the car's registration details and Aadhaar card information.
