Amidst the nation reeling under the relentless attack of the coronavirus pandemic, 2020 has been quite the challenging year for Bollywood with a couple of well known stars like Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan succumbing to the dreaded cancer disease followed by some untimely deaths of actors.

In yet another gloomy news on late Tuesday night, which sent shock waved across the industry, veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with stage 3 of lung cancer.

As good wishes and blessings poured in from all sections of the society for the actor's speedy recovery, former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who himself is a cancer survivor, took to Twitter to post a motivational message to Dutt for battling the lethal disease and emerge out as a winner.


Yuvraj, having gone through the journey of fighting and defeating a tumour in the lungs himself, offered his prayers for the actor.

"You are, have and always will be a fighter @duttsanjay. I know the pain it causes but I also know you are strong and will see this tough phase through. My prayers and best wishes for your speedy recovery" wrote Yuvraj.

On August 08, Dutt was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital after he had complained of breathlessness and uneasiness. He underwent a Covid-19 Test and his reports came out negative. He was discharged from the hospital on August 10.

On August 11, film critic Komal Nahta made public the news of the actor being diagnosed with lung cancer on Twitter, before reports emerged stating that the actor's cancer is at stage three.

Earlier on Tuesday, Dutt had posted on social media: “Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back
soon!”
