New Delhi: The first season of the Women's T20 Challenge is underway at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Meanwhile, 23-year-old leg-spinner Maya Sonawane's bizarre bowling action has set Twitter on fire. Sonawane's strange bowling action during the second match of the tournament between Velocity and Supernova is going viral on social media.

While some fans compared her strange bowling to former South African bowler Paul Adams, others suggested that the young spinner reminded them of Shivil Kaushik's unique action. Shivil Kaushik has played for Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Maya Sonawane, an uncapped right-arm leg spinner from Maharashtra, made her Women's T20 league debut for Velocity. Sonawane has become the eighth Indian uncapped player to be a part of the tournament.

There was a lot of talk about Maya Sonawane ahead of this year's Women's T20 challenge following her impressive performance in the Senior Women's T20 tournament. Sonawane had come up with a stellar performance in the Senior Women's T20 tournament by taking 11 wickets in eight matches at an economy rate of 1. She took four wickets twice in this tournament.
