PV Sindhu Next Match: PV Sindhu secured a spot in the pre-quarterfinals of the women’s singles event at the Kumamoto Masters Japan 2024 badminton tournament on November 13 (Wednesday). She triumphed over Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan with a commanding 21-12, 21-8 victory. Sindhu, the two-time Olympic medallist, currently ranked 20th in the world, defeated Thailand's world No. 11 Busanan Ongbamrungphan in just 38 minutes.


In the first game, Ongbamrungphan quickly took a 5-1 lead but the Indian shuttler mounted a strong comeback, seizing an 11-10 advantage at the interval. After the break, Sindhu took full control of the match. She won seven consecutive points to close out the first game and continued her dominance into the second, extending her streak by adding four more points before Ongbamrungphan could respond.

As in the first game, Busanan fought hard before the interval but struggled in the second half. Sindhu won 11 of the final 12 points to wrap up the match and claim her 19th victory over Busanan in 20 encounters.

In the round of 16 of the Kumamoto Masters Japan Super 500, Sindhu will meet Michelle Li of Canada on November 14 (Thursday), who defeated Japan's Natsuki Nidaira in straight games in her opening round. 


This will markt the 15th encounter on the BWF Circuit between both of them. Sindhu currently leads their head-to-head 10-4.
