New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer and current commentator Sanjay Manjrekar hogged the limelight throughout the year 2019 because of his twitter banter with cricketers and fans on social media platform Twitter. In an interview, Manjrekar had himself termed 2019 as the worst year for him as far as cricket analysis is concerned.

Manjrekar, who was earlier involved in a spat with Ravindra Jadeja during WC 2019, was involved in yet another Twitter banter with the flamboyant all-rounder following India's 7-wicket win over New Zealand in the second T20I at Auckland.

On Sunday, Jadeja attained remarkable bowling figures of 2/18 to restrict the Kiwis to 132/5 in their 20 overs. India speedster Jasprit Bumrah was also the pick of the bowlers as he returned with economical figures of 1/21 and bowled tightly in the death overs, not letting the hosts score many runs in the end.

Chasing 133 to win, unbeaten fifty from K.L. Rahul and 44 from Shreyas Iyer powered India to victory with 15 balls to spare. Wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul was adjudged the Player of the Match for his 57*.

However, Manjrekar seemed to disagree with the decision and tweeted: "Player of the match should have been a bowler. "To this Jadeja responded and asked Manjrekar to name the bowler. "What is the name of that bowler?? Please please mention."

The former Indian batsman replied to Jadeja and said: "Ha ha...Either you or Bumrah. Bumrah, because he was extremely economical while bowling overs no. 3, 10, 18 and 20."

During the 50-overs World Cup last year in England, Sanjay Manjrekar had created controversy by saying that he is not a fan of bits and pieces players like Jadeja. Manjrekar’s comments led to the Jadeja expressing his frustration on Twitter asking the former to learn to respect people who have achieved something.
