The issue of ongoing farmers' protest is being discussed from Parliament to the dressing room of the Indian cricket team. Ahead of Ind vs Eng first Test, skipper Virat Kohli, during a virtual press conference, revealed that everyone in the Indian dressing room had expressed their opinions on farmers' issue during a team meeting.

"Any issue which is present in the country, we do talk about it and everyone has expressed what they had to say about the issue. We briefly spoke about it in the team meeting and then we carried on discussing the team's plans," Kohli said when asked about the agitation.

On Wednesday, several Indian cricket stars, including Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, coach Ravi Shastri, appealed to maintain solidarity in the country after some international celebrities, including American pop star Rihanna, commented about the ongoing farmers' protest on social media.

Recently, Virat had also tweeted about the farmers' movement and wrote,"in this era of disagreements, stay united."

The first Test of the four-match Test series between India and England starts on 5 February. International cricket will return to India after more than a year. Due to the Coronavirus-induced break, cricket calendar was interrupted in March last year. The first two matches of the India-England series will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
