New Delhi: India skipper Virat Kohli has confirmed that Karnataka based batsman K.L Rahul will feature for Team India as an opener in the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo that starts from Thursday.

Rahul was selected for the Indian Test squad and was set to make a comeback in cricket after 4 months, but was ruled out of the first Test due to viral fever. Shikhar Dhawan was included in the team alongside Abhinav Mukund as opener, and went on to score 190 in the first innings.

Addressing a press conference before second Test match between India and Sri Lanka, Virat said, “I think one of our openers will have to make way for Rahul because he has been consistent in past 1-2 years. It will be on discussion in the morning tomorrow but I think Rahul will definitely come in”

Virat will have problem of plenty as he will have to drop Shikhar Dhawan or Abhinav Mukund, both of whom played a key role in India’ triumph by 304 runs in the first Test

India lead 3-match Test series 1-0 and will look to seal the series when they take on the hosts in Colombo on Thursday.
