New Delhi: A severe head-clash was witnessed between two fielders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Wednesday.

The incident happened when Kieran Powell and South Africa's JJ Smuts collided while running towards each other for a catch at the boundary ropes during the match between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Barbados Tridents.

Powell had to be admitted to a hospital after an ambulance was brought on to the field. He is currently recuperating.

Smutts, on the other hand, wasn’t seriously hurt and was able to get back on the field after a couple of minutes. He opened the batting for Patriots later on.
