Cricket Australia on Wednesday released the schedule for England's women's and men's tours for The Ashes 2021. The first match of the Ashes series will be played on December 8 in Australia. The first match of the five-Test series will take place in Brisbane. Australia men's team will put all their best efforts to defend The Ashes 2021 title at home.
The only day-night Test match of The Ashes 2021 will be played in Adelaide from December 16. The third Test of the series, traditionally called the Boxing Day, will be played in Melbourne from December 26. The fourth Test match of Ashes 2021 will be played in Sydney from January 5 to 9. The last Test match of the series will be played in Perth from January 14 to January 18.
The reason for the delay in the series is Australian players' visit to India. After returning from India, the Australian players will have to go through a 14-day hard quarantine. Australia will travel to India in October-November to take part in the T20 World Cup. The mega event had to be postponed last year due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Before the Ashes 2021, Australia will host the only Test match against Afghanistan from November 27. This will be the first time Afghanistan will play a Test match against Australia.
