T20 World Cup: Team India is set to get a new coach after next month's T20 World Cup in the UAE. Team India head coach Ravi Shastri's tenure is set to end after the T20 World Cup. According to media reports, Ravi Shastri does not want to extend his contract. Not only that, BCCI has also started looking for a new coach for Team India.

Ravi Shastri is currently 59-years-old and as per rules will be able to coach Team India for next few months only even if his contract gets extended. According to Inside Sports report, BCCI had offered Ravi Shastri to extend the contract for the tour of South Africa. He, however, refused to extend his contract.

Ravi Shastri has been associated with Team India for the past seven years. He joined Team India as director in 2014. However, when Anil Kumble became coach in 2016, Ravi Shastri had to stay away from Team India for a year. Being Virat Kohli's first choice, Ravi Shastri returned to Team India as coach in 2017.

Ravi Shastri was first made coach of Team India till the 2019 ODI World Cup. Team India performance under Ravi Shastri's was quite better and his contract was extended till the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Rahul Dravid was said to become team India's coach after Ravi Shastri's exit. The discussion intensified after Dravid played the role of coach on the tour of Sri Lanka. But reportedly, Dravid is not yet ready to become India's full-time coach at the moment. However, Team India is set to get a new coach after the T20 World Cup and a new captain in the T20 format.
