Premier League club, Aston Villa welcomed Steven Gerrard as the manager of their club. Villa announced this appointment of the former Liverpool midfielder on Thursday.
In a statement released by the club, Aston Villa said that they "highly valued" Steven Gerrard's ability of "managing and developing top young players in the Liverpool FC Academy."
Gerrard won the Scottish Premiership title with Glasgow Rangers the previous season. The former Liverpool man was attracted many admirers of football for adopting an attractive and attacking style of football.
"Aston Villa Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Steven Gerrard as our new Head Coach," the club statement read.
"Gerrard guided Glasgow Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title last season, finishing the campaign undefeated in the league," it added.
Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens took over the club in 2018. Since then, Aston Villa has grown leaps and bounces.
“It has been very clear in our discussions with him that Steven’s coaching ambitions, philosophy and values entirely match those of Aston Villa," CEO Christian Purslow said.
