It is a rare sight for any FC Barcelona fan to witness their side draw three out of the first five matches of the La Liga, but it has come true in the 2021-22 season. It is just the dawn of the new season, but the Barcelona side are already showing signs of decay.

A 10-man Barca drew 1-1 against Cadiz, which is a club that is placed 14th in the La Liga Santander points table. Barcelona is currently placed seventh in the points table and seven points below the table toppers and arch-rivals, Real Madrid.

The Spanish media, which is also brutally honest when it comes to sports journalism is taking potshots of an "ordinary" Barca side. This is the club's worst performance after 5 matches since 2003. The outlet that broke the story of Messi leaving Barcelona, Marca has called the current group of Barca forwards as the "most ineffective attack in memory".

The attacking arsenal of Barca was already cut short after Lionel Messi left the club this summer. After Messi, Antonie Griezmann too left the club and went back to play for Atletico Madrid. Thus, this year, under a new president, John Laporta, Barcelona's attack looks shaky with Memphis Depay and Philippe Coutinho being the best attacking option for Barcelona.

Despite the team not performing as per expectations, senior player Gerard Pique feels that Barca can still stage a comeback.

"We are going through a situation we aren't used to. These are turbulent years, with the change of president, and change of coaches. Together we have to do our best to provide peace of mind," Pique told Movistar.

"Everyone wants to win. There are many ways to deal with it. We can all complain or we can work. The players are here to work," he added.
