New Delhi: Team India's star pacer Shardul Thakur got engaged to his girlfriend Mittali Parulkar in Mumbai. The engagement took place at Bandra Kurla complex. The event was attended by the couple's close friends and relatives. Team India's newly-appointed T20 skipper Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Ranji team's Dhawal Kulkarni and Abhishek Nair and some other old friends of Shardul Thakur were present in the ceremony.

Mittali Parulkar runs a start-up company in Thane, known as All the Bakes. He was part of the Indian team in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, but got to play only two matches and did not take a single wicket. Considering the workload, Shardul has been given rest from the ongoing India vs New Zealand Test series and was not even part of the Ind vs NZ T20I series.

According to some media reports, Shardul and Mitali will get married after next year's T20 World Cup. Shardul posted a video on Instagram in which the lovely couple can be seen dancing.

The 30-year-old Shardul has played four Tests, 15 ODIs and 24 T20 Internationals for India so far. The star all-rounder had made a big impact by scoring consecutive half-centuries in Tests against Australia and England.
