New Delhi: Bollywood actor and Kolkata Knight riders owner Shah Rukh Khan has been handed clean chit by the Mumbai Police in connection with a brawl at the Wankhede stadium after the IPL final in 2012.

There was no evidence of Khan using foul language in front of his children and was not under the influence of Alcohol, Mumbai Police said in its report

“After the investigation, it was found that no cognisable offence had taken place,” Mumbai Police told the metropolitian court.

A local activist had filed a case against the Bollywood actor, seeking actions for abusing a security personnel of the stadium.

As it was reported earlier, Shah rukh along with his kids wanted to celebrate KKR’s IPL 5 victory on the ground but the security personnel refused him entry, leading to an argument between the two and Khan was alleged of using abusive language.

Shah Rukh Khan had later said he was upset to see his children manhandled and reacted the way any father would have.

Later, Vilas Rao Deshmukh then President of Mumbai Cricket Association decided to hand Shah Rukh Khan with a ban of 5 years which prohibited the actor from entering Wankhede stadium. The ban was lifted last year.
