Pakistan's star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi got married to Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha, Friday, in a grand ceremony in Karachi. The couple's reception ceremony was attended by star cricketers like Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan who made the event a special affair.

Just one day after his daughter's wedding, Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to share a heartfelt post for his daughter. Congratulating the newlywed couple, Afridi wrote: "Daughter is the most beautiful flower of your garden because they blossom with great blessing. A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart. As parent, I gave my daughter in Nikkah to @iShaheenAfridi, congratulations to the two of them."

In an exclusive interview on Geo News' show "Aik Din Geo Kai Sath", Shaheen Afridi had revealed that it was his wish to marry Shahid Afridi’s daughter.

"It was my wish and Alhamdulillah [thanks to Allah Almighty] it is fulfilled now," Shaheen confessed during the interview.

On being asked whether Ansha felt jealous about Shaheen's female fans, he said: "I am not sure, maybe she feels something like that.”

Shaheen will return to action in the eighth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), set to begin on February 13. Shaheen-led Lahore Qalandars will lock horns with Multan Sultans in the first match of the tournament. In the previous edition of PSL, Shaheen played an important role with both ball and bat as he led Lahore Qalandars to their first-time PSL title.
