India vs Australia: Team India's senior spinner Ravindra Jadeja, who has been missing action for the last five months, made an astounding comeback by taking a seven-wicket haul for Saurashtra against Tamil Nadu in a Ranji Trophy game in Chennai. Jadeja bagged seven wickets for 53 runs in 17.1 overs in the second innings. His bowling heroics bundled up Tamil Nadu for just 133 runs in the second innings on Day 3, after which Saurashtra got a target of 266 runs for the win. By the end of the third day's play, Saurashtra scored four runs after losing one wicket.

After his memorable seven-wicket haul, Jadeja posted a special tweet with the caption: "First cherry of the season. #redcherry"






The Men in Blue have to play a crucial four-match Test series against Australia, next month. A win for India in the upcoming India vs Australia Test series will help them make it to the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2022-23.

As the series will be played in India, the role of spinners will be highly important. The selectors have included four spinners in the team for the first two Tests. Ravindra Jadeja has been named in India squad for first two Tests but his availability is "subject to fitness". The spin all-rounder is playing Ranji Trophy to prove his fitness.
