Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) on Tuesday (August 6) announced the players included in the 'Elite Retained Players,' 'Retained Young Players,' and 'Existing New Young Players' categories for Season 11 (PKL 11). The Pro Kabaddi League also announced that the Season 11 Player Auction will be held on August 15-16, 2024.
Jaipur Pink Panthers have retained their star raider Arjun Deshwal, who also served as the team captain last season. Puneri Paltan retained star raider and captain Aslam Inamdar, who won the Most Valuable Player award last season. Dabang Delhi KC have retained its star raider pair, Ashu Malik and Naveen Kumar.
A total of 88 players were retained across three categories: 22 in the Elite Retained Players (ERP) category, 26 in the Retained Young Players (RYP) category, and 40 in the Existing New Young Players (ENYP) category.
Star players such as Pawan Sehrawat, Pardeep Narwal, Maninder Singh, Fazal Atrachali, and Mohammadreza Shadloi Chianeh were not retained and will go under the auction hammer in Mumbai on August 15-16, 2024.
In PKL Season 11 Player Auction, domestic and foreign players will be divided into four categories: A, B, C, and D. Within each category, players will be further classified as 'all-rounder,' 'defender,' or 'raider.'
For PKL Season 11, the base prices for each category are:
Category A: Rs 30 lakh
Category B: Rs 20 lakh
Category C: Rs 13 lakh
Category D: Rs 9 lakh
The player pool will include over 500 players, including 24 from the two finalist teams of the Khelo India University Games 2024. Each franchise has a total salary purse of Rs 5 crore to build their squad.
