Wishes started to pour in for Neeraj Chopra, India's star javelin thrower after he bagged the gold medal at the Men's Javelin Throw Final of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X, formely Twitter, and wished Chopra for his latest achievement. "The talented @Neeraj_chopra1 exemplifies excellence. His dedication, precision and passion make him not just a champion in athletics but a symbol of unparalleled excellence in the entire sports world. Congrats to him for winning the Gold at the World Athletics Championships," PM Modi wrote on X.  






Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur congratulated Neeraj Chopra for winning Gold at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. "The golden boy of Indian athletics wins the men’s javelin throw at World Athletics Championships. The entire nation is proud of your achievements and this moment will be remembered forever in Indian sporting history." tweeted Anurag Thakur.






Indian Army took to X, formerly Twitter, and congratulated Neeraj Chopra on bagging the Gold Medal. "#NeerajChopra makes us #Proud again!! #IndianArmy congratulates Subedar Neeraj Chopra on bagging #GoldMedal🥇 in Men's #Javelin at World Athletics Championship 2023 in Budapest with a throw of 88.17 meters," the Army wrote on X.






Neeraj Chopra's father Satish Kumar said that the celebrations will take place after he returns to India. "This is a very proud moment for our country as we got a gold medal in the World Championship as well. We will celebrate once Neeraj comes back to India," says Satish Kumar told ANI.






Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also congratulated Chopra for securing a gold medal and called it a remarkable feat that will inspire generations to come. "Double the titles, double the pride🥇🌍  Neeraj Chopra making history for India as the first to hold both Olympic and World Champion titles. A remarkable feat that will inspire generations to come," Kejriwal wrote on X.

Neeraj Chopra Bags Gold Medal At World Athletics Championships With 88.17m Throw


Neeraj Chopra bagged the gold medal at the Men's Javelin Throw Final of the World Athletics Championships. While his season-best throw of 88.77m in the first attempt of his qualifying round was enough to aid him seal a place in the final, it also secured him a place in the Paris 2024 Olympics. At the final on Sunday, Chopra's javelin flew 88.17m to help India bag its maiden medal at the Championships and an unprecented gold medal in the history of the competition.
