New Delhi: With the IPL being postponed till April 15 due to the coronavirus outbreak, CSK skipper M.S. Dhoni left Chennai amid huge fanfare. The IPL 2020 is very important for the former Indian skipper. Dhoni has not played for India since their 2019 World Cup semifinal defeat to New Zealand in July 2019.

Dhoni's performance will not only be beneficial for the Chennai Super Kings but also it will be an opportunity for him to impress the selection committee of the T20 World Cup, which will be present at the IPL 2020 to pick the squad.

It has become your home, sir!" Keep whistling, as #Thala Dhoni bids a short adieu to #AnbuDen," a tweet from CSK said with a short video of fans queuing up to get a glimpse of Dhoni as the former India captain bid adieu

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly while addressing media personnel after the conclusion of the IPL governing council meeting at Mumbai said that the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League will be a truncated one amid the coronavirus scare.

Ganguly added that the IPL committee will keep on reassessing the health situation in the nation every week and accordingly take a call on how best can the tournament be conducted.

When asked about when could the tournament get underway, the BCCI President responded by stating that no dates had been finalized and the board will take a call by closely monitoring the health situation.
