Ahead of the first-ever MotoGP World Championship round in India, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said MotoGP Bharat was not just an event but a celebration of speed, precision and the indomitable spirit of competition.
Extending his greetings to the race participants and enthusiasts, Adityanath said he hoped MotoGP Bharat becomes a "tradition" in Uttar Pradesh.
"MotoGP Bharat is a testament to the fact that UP is not just a land of heritage and culture, but also a place where tradition, modernity and innovation co-exist in perfect harmony. MotoGP Bharat manifests that our state is a place where dreams and ambitions find their wings," the UP CM further said.
The motorbike race will take place at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. The event will see 82 riders from 41 teams jostling for top honours in MotoGP, Moto 2 and Moto 3 over the course of three days.
It will be the biggest motor racing event to be held in India after Formula 1, which was dropped from the calendar following the 2013 season due to several issues.
"Uttar Pradesh, with its rich history and diverse culture, has always been a melting pot of traditions. We are proud to share our heritage with the world through events like MotoGP Bharat. This event brings together people from all walks of life, transcending boundaries and fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie," Adityanath said.
