New Delhi: Aussie star speedster Mitchell Starc was sent out to bat at number five spot as Australia was looking to put a good first innings total after loosing the wickets of their three top-order batsmen, David Warner, Aaron Finch and Marnus Labuschagne in the series decider against India on Sunday at Bengaluru.

However, promoting Starc up the order turned out to be a failed experiment for the Aussies. Starc tried to go big, but got caught in the deep by Chahal. The speedster had to return back without scoring any runs from the three balls he played.

Mitchell Starc's wife Alyssa Healy, who herself plays for the Australian women's national team, commented with a face palm emoji on one of Starc's dismissal posts on Twitter.

Fans on twitter were too left in splits...

A brilliant 131 off 132-balls run knock by Steve Smith powered the Australian team to 286/9 in Bengaluru. Speedster Mohammed Shami struck twice in the 48th over as Pat Cummins followed Steve Smith and departed Zampa in the final over with the Indian team looking to restrict the visitors under 300.

Fluent tons from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma guided India to a stunning 7 wickets win against Australia in the third and final T20I on Sunday. India attained another successful chase, leading to a 2-1 series win over Australia.
