New Delhi: Indian Under-17 Women's football team defeated Romania U 17 in their second friendly match in Turkey. The matches were a part of India's preparations for the Under-17 FIFA World Cup to be played in India coming November.

The previous match between the two teams ended in a 3-3 stalemate.

Today, India started off well and the winning goal came in the 29th minute of play when Priyangka Devi scored.

India dominated from the word go and seized initiatives. In the 12th minute of Indian girls came close to score but failed to convert.

Two minutes later the Romanian Goalkeeper helped her team to keep a clean sheet.

Few minutes later India got another free kick but couldn't capitalise. However, Priyangka Devi put India ahead in the 29th minute of the match as she scored from a defensive lapse.

Indian girls created more opportunities in the second half but the scoreline remained 1-0. The victory will certainly boost India's morale as the under 17 girls will continue to play friendlies in the coming weeks as part of their preparations for the youth world cup to be played in India next November.
