LIVE SCORE | INDIA vs ENGLAND | 4th TEST | DAY 3

MUMBAI

FULL SCORECARD

The English bowlers will be disappointed as they could not bundled the Indians out in the final session where they could only get a single wicket. Again a bad day for England with the ball as they failed to capitalise on their chances. Jayant Yadav proved his point by sticking on with Kohli to take them through the day with just 7 wickets down. Kohli was sublime all through the day and looks like he has a plan to take the game away from the Englishmen.

An eventful day for India comes to an end. With two centurians leading from the front it was just about keeping up the momentum. After loosing Pujara just on the second ball of the day, Kohli and Vijay comfortably sailed over the first session with some quick run scoring.

That's stumps on Day 3 That's STUMPS, DAY 3! INDIA LEAD BY 51 RUNS!

India: 451/7. Virat Kohli 147 (241), Jayant Yadav 30 (86)

138 overs: India: 445/7. Virat Kohli 143 (233), Jayant Yadav 28 (70)

128.2 overs: Moeen Ali to Virat Kohli, Bowled around the pads, Kohli flicks the ball around his pads towards square leg for a double. India lead by a run.

#HUNDRED Jake Ball to Virat Kohli, CENTURY! Well played, Virat Kohli! Fuller outside off, Kohli drives it through covers for a single. There was a fumble at covers and that allowed the run. He takes his helmet off and celebrates his ton. He has played an absolute gem there.

#WICKET Adil Rashid to Ravindra Jadeja, OUT! Jadeja runs out of patience! Floats it on off, Jadeja again looks to play the big shot. The bat seems to have turned in his hands. It skies in the air, Buttler comes across from mid off, goes to his left and takes the catch safely. Replays show there was a puff of dust when the ball landed. India still trail by 36 runs.

Welcome back for the final session. VIRAT KOHLI and RAVINDRA JADEJA are out in the middle to bat. Will they continue to attack or will they bide their time to frustrate England? England's tactics could be key to the game from here on. The spinners have bowled a lot already, will they continue or will Cook get his pacers back on? Let's see.

Day 3 Session 3

Both Kohli and Jadeja played their shots to deflect the pressure back on England. With the pitch breaking up, every run matters and hence the visitors will hope to wrap this up quickly and get batting. India will aim to delay it as much possible and try and sneak in a lead. It promises to be another exciting session. Join us in a while for it.

An eventful session of Test cricket! The honors are probably even one may say with India still trailing by 52 runs. England struck at regular intervals in the session as the spinners finally found their lines and lengths to induce the false strokes. The stand between the Indian skipper who has looked solid and Jadeja though eased the nerves for the Indians, finding the gaps to keep the scoreboard ticking.

112 overs: India 348/6. Virat Kohli 83(171) Ravindra Jadeja 22(28)

106.2 overs: Joe Root to Ravindra Jadeja, SIX! JEEZ! That's really hammered this time by Jadeja. Pitched a bit short and Jadeja hits it hard against the spin for a biggie over mid-wicket.

#WICKET Joe Root to Ravichandran Ashwin, OUT! THAT'S A BIGGIE! Bowled outside leg, Ashwin tries to hit of his pads but he gets his shot straight in the hands of Jennings who was standing at forward short leg. Unlucky Ashwin and a really good catch by Jennings. Ashwin waited for the third umpire decision but that was a clear catch and the ball was no where near the helmet.

#WICKET  Joe Root to Parthiv Patel, OUT c Jonny Bairstow b Joe Root. India have lost their fifth wicket.

100 overs: India 294/4. Virat Kohli 60(135) Parthiv Patel 6(20)

#WICKET Moeen Ali to Karun Nair, OUT! Good review from England! Floated on middle and leg, Karun comes forward to defend but is hit on his pads. The players go up in an appeal but the umpire says no. Ali comes across to have a chat with Bairstow who is not sure why it is not given out. Cook confers, is convinced and goes for the review. Replays show the bat was very close to the pad, there is a doubt over deflection. The bat actually hit the pad and also the ball and hence there are a couple of spikes which caused the delay The umpire concludes there is no bat there and three reds follow. Karun Nair again has to go for a low score. Moeen Ali has another wicket. A couple of quick wickets for England, India still trail by 121 runs!

93 overs: India 278/3. Virat Kohli 51(117) Karun Nair 12(14)

15th Test Fifty for VIRAT KOHLI.

#FIFTY Moeen Ali to Virat Kohli, FIFTY! Wankhede erupts! Fuller on off, Kohli comes forward and clips it past mid on for a single. There was a fumble by Buttler there and that allowed him the single. He knows he needs to carry on.

India's Murali Vijay walks back to the pavilion after being dismissed on the third day of the fourth Test cricket test match against England (AP PHOTO)

#WICKET Adil Rashid to Murali Vijay, OUT! Vijay departs to a sharp catch! Floated outside off, Vijay looks to go down the ground but does not get to the pitch of the ball. He ends up hitting the low full toss back to the bowler. Rashid fumbles a touch and the ball almost pops out but he holds onto it. Vijay cannot believe his luck but he has to go. End of a fine knock by the Indian opener. India still trail by 138 runs!

Welcome back for the second session of play. India will aim to continue batting as long as possible. MURALI VIJAY and VIRAT KOHLI stride out to bat.

Day 3 Session 2

England will rue the indiscipline of their spinners. There were patches of brilliance followed by the customary bad balls. It was about this time that the visitors had collapsed a touch and will want to inflict something similar on India. They are still not out of it but need an inspirational spell to stay on top in this game. Do join us for the second session in a while.

Vijay got to his ton and looked a bit rusty looking to get going with the game. He survived a scare when he was given out lbw to Rashid but the inside edge saved him, albeit a review. India scored 101 runs in the session but will know with the trail still 153, they are a long way off from getting on top in this game.

Phew! Now that was an interesting session of Test cricket and India have won their second session in a row. Jake Ball struck with the second ball of the day, dismissing Cheteshwar Pujara but that was all that went in the favour of the visitors as both Vijay and Kohli held fort for the hosts with a fine century stand. Both of them have been keen on using their feet well to the spinners.

And records pour in at the Wankhede stadium. Virat Kohli completes 4000 Test runs

8th Test ton for Murali Vijay!

#HUNDRED Moeen Ali to Murali Vijay, Pitched outside off, Vijay guides it towards the point region. Vijay gets to his century. He has played a really well composed knock to get to the three-figure mark.

71 overs: India 213/2. Murali Vijay 99(237), Virat Kohli 37(54)

62 overs: India 181/2. Murali Vijay 85(198), Virat Kohli 19(29)

55 overs: India 150/2. Murali Vijay 70(175), Virat Kohli 4(10)

VIRAT KOHLI is the new man in. He gets a loud cheer for obvious reasons.

#WICKET Jake Ball to Cheteshwar Pujara, OUT! The move to open with Ball today works! Angled on a length outside off, comes in sharply, Pujara lets it go but the ball wasn't even bouncing and he has his off stump pegged back. That's a poor leave but a brilliant start for England and Ball is delighted. Pujara has gone after a start.

Game time! The players are out in the middle. MURALI VIJAY and CHETESHWAR PUJARA are out to bat. England begin with JAKE BALL! Here we go....

Welcome folks to the third day of the fourth Test between India and England. India had a good day yesterday as they bundled out the visitors for 400 and they comfortably saw out the new ball with ease as they only lost a wicket of KL Rahul. Vijay got his fifty and was well supported by Pujara. They will try to carry on from yesterday. England will try to hamper their plans by getting some quick wickets to stop the run of flow and stay on top of the game. Let's see how the day turns out to be.
