LIVE SCORE | INDIA vs ENGLAND | 2nd ODI
CUTTACK
FULL SCORECARD
Not a series for bowlers. Around 700 runs were scored the other night and tonight, 747 have been scored. The spinners did the trick for India, with Ashwin and Jadeja going for just 110 in 20 overs combined, picking up 4 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was excellent at the death, stifling the batsmen.
India were a bit worried during the 40-over mark but Moeen Ali's wicket opened the floodgates. In the end, it was too much left for Morgan to do and he fell after scoring a magnificent 102.
England did not get off the best of starts, losing Alex Hales early. But then, Roy and Root fought hard with a century stand. India then bounced back with three wickets in 32 balls and the tourists seemed to be getting rolled over. But Moeen Ali and skipper Morgan then revived their team with a quickfire stand of 93 from just 73 balls.
Another excellent contest. The result was not too much in doubt after India made 381 but Eoin Morgan took the game close, giving the hosts some doubts. Eventually, it turned out to be 20 runs too many for the visiting side.
India has the last laugh, win the match by 15 runs and with that take the series 2-0
England: 360/8. 22 needed off 6 balls
OUT! A bizarre way to get out. But India won't complain. They see the back of Morgan for 102. This can be the turning point of this match. England 28 runs off 9 balls
Morgan slams his 9th ODI hundred. What an innings it has been from the England captain
England: 336/7, Eoin Morgan 85 (74) , Moeen Ali 17 (10)
Overs: 47
OUT! Bumrah right on target with that slower one. Stokes goes back for 5. India now inching closer
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Moeen Ali, OUT! DRAGS IT ON! Bhuvneshwar provides the breakthrough for India! Smart bowling, keeps this full and around off, changes the pace as well, delivering the off cutter. Moeen looks to go over the top of cover but ends up getting a thick inside edge onto the stumps. A fine, fine knock from Moeen but India keep chipping away.
OUT! Bowled! That's a huge wicket. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picks a dangerous looking Moeen Ali for 55
England: 282/5, Eoin Morgan 65 (63) , Moeen Ali 45 (38)
Overs: 42
Fifty up for the England captain. If England have to chase this target then it has to be through Morgan

Ravichandran Ashwin to Eoin Morgan, OUT! STUMPED! Remember the great Ian Chappell at this stage of the game. He always used to point towards fielding as an important aspect in the game. Many a times, what happens is, a fielding effort changes the course of the game. On the previous ball, two runs were available but because of Jadeja, the batsmen got only a single. Had that not happened, Buttler would never have been on strike! The darter from Ashwin, slipping this down the leg side, sensing that Buttler will come at him and then making the ball to go past the bat. Dhoni collects and then waits for the batsman to try to get back. Buttler sees that, tries to get back but then Dhoni whips the bails off. England are crumbling now. WIDE signalled as well.
OUT! It's the Ashwin-Dhoni combination again, Buttler out stumped for 10, England 206/5
That's the end of Jadeja's spell. Brilliant bit of bowling by the left arm spinner,10 overs 1 for 45 in this run fest.
Ravichandran Ashwin to Ben Stokes, OUT! That stays low and goes through! The carrom ball around off, Stokes stays back, playing for the turn, but the ball goes straight on, takes the inside edge and hits the stumps! England have lost two in quick succession now.
OUT! Ashwin cleans up Stokes, India on top. England 173/4
Ravindra Jadeja to Jason Roy, OUT! BOWLED! Jadeja gets Roy again! The change of pace does the trick. Tossed up slowly on middle, Roy stays back and looks to run it down to third man but the ball turns away just a touch and hits the off stump! That ends a terrific knock from Roy. That ends the 42-run stand but Morgan has faced just 18 balls, so relatively two new batsmen will be in the middle
OUT! Bolwed by Jadeja, Jason Roy takes the long walk back after a well made 82
England: 128/2, Jason Roy 51 (54) , Eoin Morgan 0 (0)
Overs: 20
Ravichandran Ashwin to Joe Root, OUT! Taken! The partnership is broken. Root once again falls after a start and Ashwin has struck with his fifth ball. Full and outside off, a bit of width, Root goes for the slog sweep with mid-wicket inside the ring but only ends up being away from the ball. Gets a top edge which balloons in the air and Virat Kohli calmly takes it at short mid-wicket. That brings the crowd to life which was beginning to get restless.
OUT! Ashwin strikes for India, Root dismissed for 54
England: 81/1, Alex Hales 29 (34), Jason Roy 30 (33)
Overs: 13
England: 60/1, Alex Hales 24 (22), Jason Roy 14 (21)

OUT! Bumrah strikes early, removes Haled for 14 off 12
England: 20/0, Alex Hales 14 (11), Jason Roy 1 (8)
Overs: 3
England begin their chase
The pitch is flat, the ground is small, the outfield is quick and there might be dew on offer. In spite of all these factors, 382 might just be a hurdle too high for the English. Join us in a while for the run chase.
England had a great start with the ball, as Woakes removed the top order in a jiffy. But the 256-run stand between Yuvraj and Dhoni completely put England out of the game. Yuvraj was at his best, smashing 150 out of 127 balls, while Dhoni, albeit he was cramping, put in 134 of his own. The stand started at a run rate of under 4 and finished at a value of 6.67. Woakes got a 4-fer but he would have preferred to have got Yuvraj's wicket as well.

Chris Woakes to Yuvraj Singh, OUT! Caught behind! Yuvraj finally falls. Woakes has his fourth. A full ball wide outside off, Yuvraj looks to drive this through the covers but the feet do not move as much and he gets a thick nick to the keeper. He departs for a wonderful 150 from just 127 balls. Deserved a double there. The crowd stands as one. What a knock. Take a bow. Can England come back from here?

Liam Plunkett to Yuvraj Singh, There it is! A century after 24 innings and 5 years! It has been a classy knock. Full on middle, Yuvraj just flicks it through square leg and takes the much-needed single to get to triple figures! The crowd is wild. Now, it will hope that he goes berserk. 17 overs left - if he hangs around for a major period, 360 is very much a possibility.

OUT! Drags it on! Third wicket for Woakes! He is on a roll. Full and outside off, swinging away, Dhawan looks to drive but there is no feet movement and he gets a thick inside edge which shatters the stumps. India in a bit of a bother here, 3 down for not many.
INDIA: 25/2. Shikhar Dhawan 11(11), Yuvraj Singh 1(3)
Overs: 4
YUVRAJ SINGH walks in at number 4, replacing Kohli.
OUT! Kohli has gone cheaply today! Big, big wicket for England. This is very full outside off, a touch wider, perhaps Kohli thinks it is a yorker and looks to dig it out. But he is fooled by the length and ends up just pushing at the ball. The bat hits the ground and the ball takes the outside edge towards second slip. Ben Stokes gets across to his left, fumbles in the first attempt but then takes it in the second. Woakes is cock-a-hoop. The umpire checks for the overstepping but replays show that Woakes is fine. Kohli has to go. What an over - 2 wickets, 2 boundaries!
The skipper of the Indian team, VIRAT KOHLI, walks in at number 3, replacing Rahul. Fresh from a wonderful century in the last game.
OUT! Edged and taken! Woakes has the first strike! KL Rahul is the man to depart.
