Kuldeep Yadav's knee operation was successful: Indian cricket team's chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav underwent knee surgery today. He suffered a knee injury during the ongoing Indian Premier League Phase 2 in UAE. The spinner himself posted the update about his successful knee operation on social media.
Kuldeep wrote on his official Twitter page, "The operation was successful and the process of recovery has begun. Thanks everyone for the support. Now the focus is on completing rehabilitation well and then returning to the field to do what I like to do as soon as I can."
Kuldeep, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, is currently out of the Indian team and will have to undergo a long rehabilitation process before returning to competitive cricket. A senior Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) official had revealed, "Yes, we have received information that Kuldeep suffered a serious knee injury during a practice session in the UAE. Perhaps his knee twisted during fielding and the injury was serious at that time." "There was no possibility that he would be able to take further part in the IPL and hence he was sent back to India," he added.
Kuldeep who is from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh has taken a total of 174 wickets in seven Tests, 65 ODIs and 23 T20 Internationals matches for India. He last played for India on the tour of Sri Lanka. He was once a regular member of the national squad in limited overs cricket.
