The inaugural season of the Women's Premier League is all set to come to its climactic end with final set to be played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Brabourne Stadium later this evening. Both teams have played really good cricket in the competition so far and were the top two teams in the league stage.

However, while Delhi sealed an automatic final berth by virtue of topping the table, Mumbai had to play the Eliminator where they dominated the contest against the UP Warriorz to set up the final against DC. Ahead of the finale, members of the Mumbai Indians' men's team led by Rohit Sharma wished the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side the very best.

Notably, the MI franchise is the most successful team in the history of the competition with as many as five titles to their credit. However, they did not win any of those in their first 5 years. Contrary to that, the women's MI side have made their way to the finals in their first attempt and would now want to lift the trophy.

The video of Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav, Tim David & others wishing the women's team luck was shared by the franchise on their official social media handle.

"Mumbai ki ladki full form mein final mein #AaliRe!” πŸ”₯ Some special wishes from our #OneFamily ahead of the crunch game,"  the clip was captioned.

Meanwhile, the sixteenth edition of the IPL is all set to commence on March 31 and with MI scheduled to begin their campaign on April 2 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rohit & Co. had a disappointing season last year and would want to put up an improved show this year after finishing at the bottom of the league table in 2022.
