Dinesh Karthik and Virat Kohli got into a fun conversation after the Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals IPL 2022 match. It was due to Karthik's efforts that RCB's score went to 189/5 after being 92/5 in 11.2 overs.

In the conversation with Kohli, DK (as he is fondly known) revealed his desire to play for India in the ICC T20 World Cup set to take place later this year. He said that there are two goals for him, one is to play well for RCB, and the second is to find his way through the Indian team.

"There are two things: There's a short term goal and there's a bigger vision also. The short-term goal is to do well for RCB. The bigger vision is to play for the country," Karthik said in a video on IPLT20.com.

"I know there is a World Cup around the corner and I want to be part of that World Cup desperately and help India cross the line. Every day I practice with that intent," he added.

While talking to Karthik, Kohli said," Man of the IPL so far for me."

"Your calmness stood out for me. You have shots ready for all kinds of fields," said Kohli. "That's been a standout feature. All of us in the dressing room get a lot of confidence out of this," he added.

When asked about how he kept composure, Karthik said. "I was aware that I was the last batsman. When you are the last batsman, you can't leave it to anybody else.

Speaking more about his strategy, Karthik said, "At that point, Kuldeep was bowling well, so I gave respect and then took on bowlers that I wanted to target. That is the key for a middle-order batsman - to understand the wicket and which bowler you want to target. I actually got lucky with the dropped catch."

"At 15 overs, no one gave RCB a chance, so to come back from there, is very special for me," said DK.

"I am very happy that DK is clear in his goals and has presented a strong case for himself," said Virat Kohli.

"AB would be very proud of you," he concluded.

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi by 16 runs to win their fourth match of the season at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
