The solid partnership (77 runs off 43 balls) between Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma helped Sunrisers Hyderabad post a challenging 164/5 against Chennai Super Kings at Dubai International Stadium. The solid partnership between the rookies kept SRH in the game all throughout. 19-year-old Priyam Garg notched up his maiden IPL fifty off just 23 balls.

SRH skipper David Warner and Jonny Bairstow came out in the middle to open the innings for their team. For CSK, Deepak Chahar started the proceedings with the new ball. The speedster cleaned up in-form Jonny Bairstow early to give his team the big breakthrough.

SRH definitely did not get the ideal start as Chahar's sharp in-swinging delivery rattled Bairstow's stumps to depart him for a 3-ball duck. Middle-order established batsman Manish Pandey, the next man in, looked in a different zone and played some wonderful strokes.

Manish and Warner survived the CSK bowling out and batted through the powerplay. At the end of the powerplay, SRH were 42/1. After the sedate powerplay for SRH came to an end, Shardul Thakur inflicted the damage on Sunrisers Hyderabad by removing Manish Pandey for 29 to get his first wicket in IPL 2020 as the batsman smashed the ball straight to Sam Curran at mid-off.

In-form Kane Williamson joined David Warner in the middle and the duo looked to steady SRH's sinking ship. Williamson smashed a beautiful four to deep cover to open his account and also bring up the fifty for SRH.

After facing early setbacks by losing quick wickets, Warner and Bairtsow helped Sunrisers Hyderabad make quick recovery by helping them reach 63/2 after the end of first ten overs.

CSK managed to put themselves on top by taking two quick wickets of David Warner and Kane Williamson in back-to-back deliveries. While skipper Warner (28) got caught out by fabulous fileder Faf du Plessis when he attempted to go big, Williamson fell short of the crease after a mix-up that resulted in a run-out.

Now in the middle were SRH's two young lads, Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma with an opportunity to get their team out of trouble and prove a point. Southpaw Abhishek Sharma started showing his skills and the right intent by attacking the CSK bowlers.

The fifth-wicket batting partnership between the two young batters steadied SRH's sinking ship and they changed gear in the death overs. The solid partnership between the rookies had put serious pressure on CSK. The great partnership (77 runs off 43 balls) came to an end after Abhishek Sharma (31) was dismissed after a fine knock.

India's U19 skipper Priyam Garg scored his maiden IPL fifty off just 23 balls and after that also got a lifeline as Shardul Thakur overstepped to bowl a big no-ball. In the last over, Garg got out with last over to be bowled. In the end, SRH managed to score 164 for five wickets.
