Vijay Hazare Trophy witnessed an epic showdown between Shreyas Iyer-led Mumbai and Abhishek Sharma-led Punjab on Saturday, December 28.
Punjab stunned cricket fans with a thumping eight-wicket win over Mumbai, powered by an extraordinary knock from Prabhsimran Singh, a retained player for Punjab Kings (PBKS) for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Prabhsimran Singh, representing Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, displayed his explosive batting skills by scoring an unbeaten 150 off just 101 deliveries. His innings featured 14 boundaries and 10 huge sixes. Prabhsimran's power-packed knock helped Punjab chase down the target of 249 runs in just 29 overs.
Mumbai, batting first, managed to post 248 runs before being bowled out. Atharva Onkolekar top-scored with 66 runs, supported by contributions from Suryansh Shedge (44) and Shardul Thakur (43). Punjab's pace spearhead Arshdeep Singh was the standout bowler, claiming a five-wicket haul.
In the chase, Punjab captain Abhishek Sharma scored 66 runs, while Ramandeep Singh provided steady support with an unbeaten 22. However, it was Prabhsimran's breathtaking knock that stole the show and sealed a one-sided win for his team.
